We at Panamuna Project were extremely fortunate to be invited to a networking event last Friday to celebrate Earth Day, where we could mingle and chat with like-minded people, businesses and organisations. It was a fantastic event, held at the Boomerang Bags warehouse in Burleigh Heads, where we met some amazing people doing inspiring things for the protection of our planet.
Earth Day is an annual event held on the 22nd April to raise public awareness about environmental issues facing our planet and ways in which we can help. The day began in America in 1970 and has spread to be a day that it observed globally, through rallies, conferences, outdoor activities and community projects.
Held by Boomerang Bags in conjunction with the Australian Association for Environmental Education and Silkwood School, this Earth Day networking event gave us a great opportunity to spread the word about Panamuna, whilst also connecting with others as a broader community of environmental advocates. We are looking forward to building stronger links with these groups, and have some great ideas for some collaborative projects that will help to extend our range.
