Photo Exhibition: The Beauty of a Second - by João de Carvalho

Last Wednesday (6th June), Sustainable Surf Collab, in conjunction with Panamuna Project, had the pleasure to launch another mind blowing art exhibition that will remain exposed on our walls until 4th of July.

João de Carvalho is an art director and a graphic designer. He is also an extremely talented photographer! From wildlife to the most stunning landscapes, to dream waves and portraits of sunset surfers, João brings a glimpse of an escape within all his images. We warn you: you might fall even more in love with the Gold Coast after seeing his latest exhibition  The Beauty of a Second. Each artwork presented is a reminder of the uniqueness of every moment, an instant that can change in a blink of our eyes, allowing anything to happen. João captures those magical moments that we sometimes wish lasted forever, the ones with glowing light shining on waves, the coast and us.

The opening night was once again  the place to be on the first Wednesday evening of the month. Between 6-8pm the SSC welcomed a crowd that was sharing good vibes, laughter and awes of admiration for the images. To top off the evening, Stone and Wood supported the event with their fabulous beers.

Come visit us over the next month to check out “The Beauty of a Second” exhibition, while grabbing your favorite açai bowl, coffee or sustainable surf gear. If you missed this opening night, don’t worry! There will be another one in July, with another inspiring artist! Stay tuned through our social media.

Sustainable Surf Collab (SSC) values sharing the talent of local artist as a way of empowering them and others to follow their artistic instinct. Our exhibitions aim to provide a platform for community engagement, networking and support to uplift the space of art in our lives. While some people consider art like something that is out of reach for them, we believe that all can benefit from creativity, and this starts with inspiration. Don’t forget to let yourself feel inspired by what surrounds you! Whether it is a picture, a sunset with waves, a sculpture, a video or the song playing on your radio, this feeling of admiration is empowering our inner desire to create, and maybe even more importanrly, to create change for the better!
